PASSION PROJECT
Description: Blending aspects of the ancient Japanese, Maori, and Chavín cultures, this mark was designed to function as a hanko–a carved wooden stamp that is used to mark ownership or identity. The mark’s symmetry produces a face that resembles tiki masks found in sacred Maori meeting houses. Similar to the Raimondi Stele of ancient Chavín culture, the hanko design displays equilibrium when viewed right-side-up as well as upside-down.
